WebSource (Beta) is now rolling out to some S1 EDGE users who are on the early access program. WebSource helps you enrich your data from documents, images, and PDFs from live data from the web.

When you choose a Data Grid Column to be enriched with WebSource, S1 EDGE will extract the data from the web and enrich the data in that column. You can also view the sources from which the data was extracted, along with their links.

Workspace dashboards, data grids, and so much more have been redesigned to be even more intuitive and easier to use. The whole experience is now more consistent and cohesive for you to process data faster and understand your data even better.

We also improved the color scheme of S1 EDGE to be more subtle and easier on the eyes.

Even better, we have implemented a custom icon set for S1 EDGE to make it unique to use, and to accomodate more use cases across S1 EDGE.

Today, we’re excited to announce a feature that will save you even more time and effort than ever before. You can now create workspaces from a variety of templates from different use cases.

Even better, you can create your own templates and share them with your team so that they can use them to create their own workspaces. Workspaces created from templates are automatically configured with the settings and data from the template.

You can access the templates from your dashboard or from the workspace creation page.

We’re thrilled to announce the biggest update to S1 EDGE. Today, we’re launching the S1 EDGE API, which will allow you to interact with your S1 EDGE account programmatically.

With the new API, you can build your own dashboards, workflows, and even automate your work outside of S1 EDGE if you prefer. All our API endpoints are documented, and they all follow OpenAPI standards to make it easier for you to use.

We’re also launching a new API docs website, where you can read the docs, and start understanding how to use our API. If you are on one of our paid plans, just click on the ‘Access API’ from the sidebar, and you will be redirected to the API docs depending on your plan.

When we announced the launch of Kalai, our design system few days back, our intention was already set. We want S1 EDGE to be the most inclusive enterprise software in the world.

Today, we have started testing a new Reading Mode called “Dyslexic Reading Assist Mode”. This mode will help you read S1 EDGE with ease, if you have Dyslexia. We believe this is a step towards making S1 EDGE the most inclusive enterprise software in the world.

This is a beta version, and we will be grateful if you could give it a try and let us know what you think.

Kalai (கலை) means art in Tamil. Today, we’re thrilled to announce one of the most light-weight design systems we have ever seen or built. Kalai DS allows us to build our products faster, and stay consistennt across new features, updates, and new products.

Kalai comes with one of the most precise and only-as-needed components designed specifically for S1 EDGE. Kalai’s color system is something we are really proud of, and we hope you will love it as much as we do as you use S1 EDGE.

The best part? Most of the elements you use across S1 EDGE will feel so familiar, that you will not even notice the amount of work we put into making it feel consistent. That’s the reward for this effort.

Kalai is not open sourced yet, but we will evaluate that option in the future. We are also investing in building an accessible theme using Kalai, so that absolutely everyone in your team get the same experience that we all deserve to have.

Today, we are thrilled to announce the launch of two new themes for S1 EDGE: Carbon and Snow. Our designers went overboard to make sure these themes are super easy on the eyes, and reduce eye strain.

Above all, we have now adopted a new color profile called OKLCH, which is a more human-friendly color model that improved accuracy in almost all the color spaces across different devices. So when you are on call with your team, and you say “Hey, check the items in orange”, everyone will see the same color, no matter what device they are on. They won’t see red, or amber. They just see orange.

The Carbon theme is a dark theme that is easy on the eyes, and all the other colors are muted to reduce eye strain. The Snow theme is a light theme that is easy on the eyes, and the colors are enhanced to reduce eye strain.

We understand that every enterprise has a different way of authenticating their teams. Today, we’re thrilled to announce the launch of new authentication features to S1 EDGE.

Besides your regular password-based authentication, you can now use SSO, passkeys, and more ways to authenticate. This gives you more flexibility to choose the best authentication method for your team, and even enforce them to use certain authentication methods.

We have now re-written the entire file upload modal, which should make the upload process faster and so much more reliable.

You can now simply drag and drop hundreds of files at once, and even more around your workspace, without any issues. Your files are now being uploaded in the background, and you can continue processing your data while the files are being uploaded.

Also, the files can be a mix of different file types, and we will now be able to process them all together, without any issues.

Sometimes, your PDF is not all text. You might have some images, charts, or other content that might not be readable by humans or even machines. The new improvements to our vision AI now helps us treat different parts of the PDF differently.

For example, if you have a PDF with a table, the AI will now be able to understand that the table is a table, and extract it as a table in your Data Grid.

We are also applying similar logic to other file formats that are not purely text-based. Especially for files that are blurry or have a lot of background noise, the AI will now be able to understand the content better.

Many times, you might want to extract a particular value from your file, and forcefully display it in a particular type in your Data Grid. For example, you might want to convert “Hundred Dollars” to 100 in your Data Grid.

Today, we are introducing a new feature that allows you to choose the type of content each of your Data Grid item will have. This will help you save even more time, and make your Data Grids even more powerful.

Next up, we are also working on a feature that allows you to force convert currency values to unify this data in your Data Grid.

It is one thing to build a fast product, but it is another to ensure it keeps getting faster over time. The latest release took significant engineering effort to double the speed of the overall S1 EDGE platform.

We have also engineered a new caching layer inside the browser, and also on the server side to ensure the responses are rendered fast, and no particular action runs too long now.

We also commit to improving the speed of S1 EDGE even further by revisiting our code and infrastructure every month.

Today, we are introducing a new way to navigate around your S1 EDGE account. Among other user interface improvements across S1 EDGE, the new sidebar is super tidy, and makes it easy for you to jump between your projects, workspaces, and more.

For larger enterprises who manage hundreds of workspaces, you can also take advantage of the search functionality to quickly find the workspace you need.

Data Grid is your main way to interact with data in S1 EDGE. We have now added many new features to make it easier for you to interact with your data.

We have completely redesigned the Data Grid, which now allows you to do more with your data. Here’s what has changed:

• New UI: We have redesigned the Data Grid to make it easier for you to interact with your data.
• Column Management: You can now manage columns in the Data Grid, including reordering, hiding, and pinning columns.
• Row Management: You can now manage rows in the Data Grid, including reordering, hiding, and pinning rows.
• Sorting: You can now sort data in the Data Grid based on various columns.
• Real-time Updates: You will now see updates to your data in real-time, as they come in.

S1 EDGE now supports Workspaces. Workspaces are a new way to organize your data, and keep them organized for different use-cases. For instance, you can now create a new Workspace to process a batch of air waybills, and another Workspace to process a batch of invoices.

We are also bringing collaboration to S1 EDGE Workspaces. This means, you can now invite your team members to join a Workspace, and work together on the same data.

Currently, Workspaces are available to all S1 EDGE customers, and the number of workspaces may vary depending on the plan you have chosen.

All S1 EDGE customers can now create organizations, and invite their team members to collaborate on the same data. We are also working on Workspaces within organizations, and will be rolling that out soon.

If you are a consultant, agency, or an enterprise, you can now manage data of your clients separately with their own dedicated organization within S1 EDGE.

Back in 2018, we developed what we later called “Skcript C”. This was a pet project before the explosion of AI. The in-house platform was built to power our own internal projects, and also to power some of our client projects.

Today, we have incorporated the same technology into S1 EDGE, and this new middleware is now powering our vision capabilities that our customers can use to help AI understand images, documents, videos, and more.

This is the first of many new capabilities we are adding to S1 EDGE. More on that soon.
