The Beginning

It was a cold December evening in 2013, when Karthik Kamalakannan (CEO) and Swaathi Kakarla (CTO) sat down to discuss about how the industry has lost its way in building insanely great software. Consulting companies were delivering mediocre solutions to their clients, and the software industry was moving towards a world of lock-in, make quick money, and move on to the next money making client.
This has to change, they thought. They looked around to see what other companies in their reach were doing something different. The ones who really deeply cared about their craft. The ones who actually considered building software as an art. The number was staggeringly small.
They decided to start a company that would only build software with deep care and quality. They decided to work with clients who believed in the same. They decided to be brave enough to pick problems that others gave up on. They named the company Skcript.
